Oh this was such an intersting week. So last Thursday (not the one that just past, but the one before it) I entered into this contest, via Facebook and never thought I would actually... win. So, I nearly fell out of my seat when I saw my name amoung the other 265 winners. To say the least, I was stoked. ^_^ "Free movie tickets? I've never won anything before. This is great!" I thought to myself.
Finally after much planning as to how I was actually going to get to the Irvine Spectrum from little Cerritos, my friend and I were on our way to a Saturday night out on the town. It was fun and very relaxing. I enjoyed hanging out, geeking out over Fringe, Glee, and Doctor Who with Hollie, my dear and a sweet if not a bit anal friend who got me into the world of American television and the SciFi genre. People would be amazed at how infuential she actually is. We walked around the stores, chuckling at teenage girls with their homemade screen-tees and their slew of gossip about what team they were on, checking out bookstores, and gawking at the over priced boots that Hollie swore to heaven and hell were made just for her (she didn't actually say that out loud... but I know she was thinking it xD). It was fun. Hell even the movie was pretty good. The whole waiting in-line, the plethora of people that glared at us with our neon colored wristbands that screamed "VIP", even the smell of popcorn was inviting. It really got me into the mood of the whole night and the buzz was actually making me a bit dizzy. After finally settling down in our seats, armed with a huge bag of popcorn and a sour green apple slushie, it was time to enjoy the movie. The trailers came up and I was so thrilled to see Remember Me, Percy Jackson, AND The Lovely Bones play on the big screen! Honestly, I couldn't have been more thrilled!
Sadly, that was the end of the good night.

But to be honest, the movie was not the thing that killed the night. No, it was actually what happened on the drive back home.
So there we were about 15 miles away from the Irvine Spectrum and the silence in the car at this point was like bamboo splinters under my finger nails. So I dug in my purse for my MP3 player when I realized my purse felt very light and couldn't feel my MP3 player at all. And then as I dug depper, I felt it way~ at the bottom of the bag. But the problem was... my purse still felt unnaturally light. I turn to Hollie, who was as focused and stiff as a cardboard box on speed, and said, "Phew! I thought I lost my MP3 player when I tipped over my bag at the theater. Thank goodness it wasn't my purse."
No such luck.
Long story short, we had to drive ALLL the way back. Find parking across the damn place (which was as big as fucking Disneyland and packed as Las Vegas on New Years Eve!) then we had to sprint our asses over to the movie theater only to find out that we couldn't go in to search beacuse the 7:30 showing of New Moon had already began. So we had to wait 2 hours! before we could go back inside to look. And the whole time... saying that this kind of thing happens and that it won't do me any good to cry and worry over it. So I was being a bit of a drama queen but how would she feel if she lost her wallet and her mom was going to skin her alive when she got home. The phone call home was the worst. My aunts were so worried. My mom though... she said "Good Luck" as if I was doomed since the second I woke up that morning! T_T But she didn't yell at me or lectured me. She just said... Good Luck... and to get home safely. I was shocked. It was weird. I never thought that my parents could be so understanding.
Finally, after two very nerve wreaking hours of near crying into a distressed phone call to my over zealous mother who was worried stiff, a bizzare and yet fun conversations about a marriage that was suppose to not be a marriage anymore, a near fight with a Customer Service rep @ Edwards Regal Ent., and a somewhat calming hot chocolate later, my heart was pounding as the security guard marched us inside to see if my wallet was still there. T___T At this point, I've lost all hope and thought, 'Well, the day was great while it lasted...'
But then, as we got down on our knees in the dark, grappling our way towards the under belly of our seats, we saw it. Innocently waiting for its owner to claim it, my wallet was there, intack and every single cent was still there. My credit card, my cash, my 5 forms of ID, even my movie stubs. I was amazing. I elated. I cheered and nearly hugged the poor Security Guard who had to deal with us. And when I called my mom, she told me how lucky I was and that she was happy for me. It was great; I was on Cloud 9!
Overall... the evening turned from just a night out at the movies, to my own personal adventure that had a happy ending. ^_^ When I look back on it now... yeah... it was kind of funny.
